adventurin' in oly

shirt - thrifted alternative apparel, sweatshirt - old navy, jeans - gap, shoes - thrifted, purse - thrifted coach

On Saturday I drove down to Olympia to return a shirt and hang out with the boy who the shirt belonged to. We listened to records and then went to this cool place in the woods with all these amazing grown over, falling down, brick and concrete buildings. It was really cool, even though it was muddy and we got really dirty crawling into some tight spaces. He also took me up to the highest point in Thurston County and it was windy and very very cold. I thought I was going to blown off the mountain!

p.s. I'm in Texas right now, and will be for the next two weeks. Blogging may be sparse but I'm taking lots of pictures and hopefully will get right back to it when I get back. I didn't bring my laptop, so editing photos is probably not going to happen. But be ready for total summery-ness when I get back. It's HOT here.

streetfair bookclub

tee - vintage depeche mode, flannel shirt - borrowed viyella by gant, jeans - old navy, moccasins - minnetonka, bracelets - thrifted and random leather cord, rings - vintage

Ok, this outfit is crazy simple and maybe kind of boring but I kind of love it. Maybe just because the day I wore this, last weekend at the street fair, was really great, maybe because the flannel belongs to a boy I like, maybe because I'm wearing a Depeche Mode tee, or because I finally got some sweet moccasins. Or maybe a little of each! I guess it's a combination of actually really liking what I wore, despite it's simplicity, and just being happy about that day.

I think it's rather funny that I was not wearing two of these items at the start of the day. One, as I mentioned, is the flannel, which the boy I was hanging out with lent me since I left my jacket in my car and we ended up in an entirely different part of the city. The other is this amazing bracelet I found at a thrift shop we went to. Yeah, wearing rainbows on my wrist makes me all kinds of happy. It was made in Mexico and I'm not sure what the metal is. It may be sterling, but then again, it may just be a base metal. We'll see if my skin turns green or has any weird reactions. I also ALMOST bought an Argus C3 at the same thrift store but couldn't figure out if it was functional or not so I left it behind. Kind of regretting that since it was priced so well, but I have confidence another will find me. I did pick up this great red-orange kind of futuristic dress at another thriftstore (where I saw a girl get arrested! I felt bad, she looked like she might have been pregnant) but it's made of a pretty heavy fabric so I think I'll be waiting until the fall to wear it. It's very cute though.

woah, I'm back?

wow, sorry I've been MIA for awhile. I don't know what happened exactly, just blogging wasn't on my mind I guess. I'm definitely not sick of it or planning on quitting or deleting my blog or anything. Maybe sometimes we all need a bit of a break. Work has also been kind of crazy, and I'm getting ready to go on vacation in a week. Well anyways, last weekend we went up to B-ham and here are some pictures.

dress - thrifted, tights - target, hoodie - american eagle, purse - thrifted coach, shoes - converse sneakers and jeffrey campbell heels

That was a lot. But looking at them makes me happy. That was a good day. There is a boy, who I like, who was up there too, and things were, and still are, cute. And Whatcom Falls, where most of these were taken was just beautiful. I had to switch to sneakers for our hike, but I am loving these heels. I got a compliment from a hippie at the Farmer's Market and they were comfortable even while standing at a show later that night. The dress is a new addition to my growing collection of little 90s dresses. So easy to find in thrift stores! I'm also loving messy braids and red lipstick (which I'm only actually wearing in one of these pictures).

terribly tired

flannel - thrifted from the little boys section, jeans - urban outfitters, shoes - thrifted, bag - thrifted coach

Wow, I didn't realize that so much of this outfit was thrifted when I wore it. Which, by the way, was like a week ago. I've been a horrible blogger and have not worn anything interesting in a week. Well, actually I was just in Bellingham for the weekend and I dressed cute then, but we'll talk about that when I edit those pictures. As it stands, the only new clothes in this picture are my pants. Which I love. They are high waisted. Not insanely high, but just under my belly button. I don't know why the low rise trend has held on for SO LONG but it really needs to go away. Mid to high rise is the way to go!

Sorry about the mess in this picture but I got home late and didn't have anywhere good to take a picture. I really need to clean my room. In fact, I got home so late I ended up falling asleep fully dressed. In case you ever wondered, this is what I look like first thing in the morning. The bangs are crazy.

p.s. why am I so obsessed with alliteration??

drunken whatevs

shirt - old, skirt - thrifted, tights - target/thrifted, shoes - pf flyers

Guys, I am too drunk to be blogging. This outfit is from sometime last week. Isabel from Hipster Musings probably inspired the purchase of this skirt. I saw it at the thrift store and didn't immediately thing of her, but once I got hit home, I realized I'm pretty sure she has a great navajo print skirt too. This wrap one makes me think I look like I grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around my waist and called it good. But have you seen Isabel's new bangs? Super cute. Wish I could pull off those tiny, blunt, straight across ones, but it's just not right for my face.
